Notification No. 69/2009-Customs
 
New Delhi dated the 19th June 2009
 
G.S.R. (E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby directs that the following notifications of the Government of India, in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), specified in column (2) of the Table below, shall be amended in the manner and to the extent specified in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table, namely:-

74/2005-CUSTOMS, dated the 22nd July, 2005 [G.S.R. 499(E), dated the 22nd July, 2005.]
In the said notification, in the preamble, for the words and figure “from so much of the duty of customs leviable thereon as is in excess of 25 per cent. of the applied rate of duty” the words “from the whole of duty of customs leviable thereon, which is specified in the First Schedule to the said Customs Tariff Act” shall be substituted.

75/2005- CUSTOMS, dated the 22nd July, 2005 [G.S.R. 500(E), dated the 22nd July, 2005.]
In the said notification, in the preamble, for the figures and words "65 per cent.", the figures and words "50 per cent." shall be substituted.

Note.- (1) The principal notification No. 74/2005-Customs, dated the 22nd July, 2005 was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, vide number G.S.R. number 499(E), dated the 22nd July 2005 and was last amended by notification no. 45/2008-Customs, dated the 9th April 2008 which was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary vide number G.S.R. 273 (E), dated the 9th April 2008.
 
(2) The principal notification No. 75/2005-Customs, dated the 22nd July, 2005 was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, vide number G.S.R. number 500 (E), dated the 22nd July 2005 and was last amended by notification no. 45/2008-Customs, dated the 9th April 2008 which was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary vide number G.S.R. 273 (E), dated the 9th April 2008.
